One of my favorite things about DEV.to is the Welcome Thread! It’s such a lovely place to meet new people, welcome newcomers, and make someone ...

Yes. Almost always I commented on the Welcome Thread :)

Yes, as often as I can. Once the intros get large I try to scroll from the bottom up to say hi to later comments.

Nope, never, sometimes when the Welcome Thread pops up in my Discover feed, I like newcomers' comments, but I've never actually left a comment myself. Shame on me 🙁😅

I've done it a few times and I feel bad about it. I need to do it way more than that.

Nope not really, has been a "blind spot" for me - maybe just maybe I commented there 1 or 2 times, not sure, but nah, not really!

I left one today on someone's intro post rather than the Welcome Thread.

Reading this thread, my friend Mustafa can't remember his first welcome comment, while Hemapriya remembers welcoming you specifically. That's the whole argument for doing it. The one welcoming forgets, the one being welcomed keeps the link. You've still got yours from June. 😊

Haha yes, I remember the little things! I still remember seeing you in @xulingfeng ’s comments for the first time. By the way, who was the person you welcomed today? 👀

I welcomed @star123 to the community today. It was quite a coincidence that I was mentioned in his post just as I came across your post about the welcome thread!

I’d love to participate in the welcome thread, as it’s an exciting way to meet new people and connect with the community. However, it’s not the only way to do so. You can always engage with others by commenting on posts you find interesting!

I honestly can’t remember my first Welcome Thread comment. 😄 But I really like the idea behind it. Sometimes a simple “welcome” is enough to make someone feel part of the community. It’s a small gesture, but it can mean a lot. 😊
