Hi everyone! I'm Kaushik, a backend engineer doing a Masters in Data Science at RMIT in Melbourne.
I've been building Claude Remote, a Claude Code plugin that lets me start Claude Code sessions on my own PC from my phone, with my whole setup loaded. My first post here will be about why I built it, and the bugs that passed every test along the way.
Looking forward to reading what everyone's building. Say hi if you're into developer tools or Claude Code!
Welcome Kaushik! What inspired you to create Claude Remote in the first place?
Hey Francis, thanks for taking time to reply! I built Claude remote to access my codebase WITH my custom hooks, rules and skills, because I didn’t want it to go via discord or any other apps except the stack I’m familiar with (tailscale and SSH uk?)
Yea that's fair. I found that interesting to see you built, so I wanted to know the reason since I was curious. Good work either way!
Hi Kaushik! That custom Claude remote setup sounds incredibly smart. I've also been diving deep into AI agents and recently built an MCP Server for Claude during a hackathon to handle custom tools and workflows. Bypassing other apps and using SSH/Tailscale for direct access is a great architectural choice. I'd love to connect and learn more about how you structured those custom skills!
Thanks Jose! Small correction that's actually part of the story: it's Tailscale only, with no SSH. SSH was my first design, but a terminal on a phone screen turned out to be the wrong tool for driving Claude, so the phone just taps "start" and the Claude app does the rest.
My skills stay private since they're tailored to how I work, but the general idea is simple: short written playbooks for how I plan, review and ship, which Claude Code follows in every project. Happy to connect and chat about it! What does your MCP server handle? I'm always curious what tools people end up wiring in 🤝
Hey everyone! I'm Mridul, a lead software developer with 15+ years in industrial software — the stuff that runs laser-cutting machines, PLCs, and HMIs. Mostly C#/.NET, WPF, and Beckhoff TwinCAT/ADS.
I've spent most of my career writing code for the factory floor, which is a corner of dev you don't see much of on here — so I'm hoping to share some of the war stories and lessons. Excited to be part of the community!
Welcome Mridul! Nice to see someone with experience in the industrial side of software. What brings you to DEV mainly knowing you will share stories about your experience? Regardless, hope your journey goes well :)
Thanks Francis! Two things brought me here, really: after 15+ years I've got a pile of hard-won lessons that rarely get written down, and writing them out forces me to actually understand them properly. Industrial dev is a quiet niche online, so if these notes help even a few people who get thrown into it, that's a win. Appreciate the kind words — glad to be here.
Hey Mridul, welcome! That’s a really interesting background. I come from the software side but have also spent time working on the factory floor, so I’ve gained a lot more appreciation for the systems that actually keep production moving.
Nice to meet you, Mridul. I am sure I will learn a lot from your experience when you share it. Excited to learn a little about that side of Industrial software.
Thanks Clement, really appreciate the welcome! It's a corner of software that stays pretty hidden, so I'm hoping to pull the curtain back a bit. Part 1's already up if you fancy a look — more on the way.

Hi 🖖👋
Hi everyone! I have just published my first post as i have just joined the platform. Please see it from my profile! Just a 2 min read.
Hi
hi
Hey everyone! I'm a full-stack developer with a massive backlog of side project ideas that I never had enough time for before AI. Super excited to finally bring them to life!
Hello Everyone,
Lav Kumar this side. I am full stack developer started from MERN, later I learnt python, django, fastapi and postgres. I am here to connect with you.
Hey LAV! Welcome to DEV!
Hi everyone! I'm Ana, from Brazil!
I work in AI evaluation. I design tasks to find where AI models break when they write code, and build the scoring around it. Mostly Python, plus some Lua on the Roblox side.
I joined to read more from people in my area and meet a few of them along the way. Looking forward to it 🫡
Welcome. Finding where they break when they write code is the part I am worst at. When an agent finishes something and it just works, I almost never go back and read it properly. The tempting thing is to start the next feature, and the bugs I find later are always in some case nobody thought to specify.
So designing those cases on purpose sounds like the hard version of the thing I avoid doing. How do you write a task for the case nobody thought of?
Hey, thanks!
The honest answer is that I don't write the task for the case nobody thought of. I go find the case first, then write the task around it.
Whatever the domain, the step that saves me is the same: before designing anything, I run something that only prints numbers. What does the state actually hold, how many times does this pattern appear, how long does this scenario take. Ideas I design on assumption come back every time.
The other half is the one I'd push you on, because it's the part that catches what you described. When you have a test that passes on the fixed version and fails on the broken one, you're not done. You need a third version: the most likely wrong fix. Not a random broken one, the one a reasonable person would actually write. That's what exposes a test that passes for the wrong reason.
On one game project, a slot machine was charging the table maximum instead of the current bet. Pass and fail looked clean. Then I ran a version that fixed the charge but broke the machine's spin cycle on the way. One check caught it, and until that run I had no evidence the check was worth its weight.
And when a test passes on both versions, that doesn't mean it's useless. It means you haven't found the case that breaks it yet. Big difference, and treating them as the same thing throws away good tests.
Hey everyone! I'm Suryanshu, a backend engineer with about 5.8 years in Java/Spring Boot/AWS. Recently pivoted into AI engineering and just published my first post here, I built a cryptographic security broker for AI agents after watching an LLM get tricked into trying to delete a GitHub repo. Excited to be part of this community and connect with anyone working on AI agent security or MCP tooling.
Welcome. I build a game where AI bots play against people, and my version of this is much dumber than prompt injection. The bots just invent rules. One made-up rule and the game is ruined for everyone in it. I feed each step only the rules it actually needs and check the answer against a list of allowed values before it goes anywhere, and they still surprise me.
That is with nobody attacking me. Having a real attacker write the input sounds a lot worse.
Thanks, and honestly that example is a great one to bring up here. Curious about your setup though: when a bot invents a rule, does anything ever act on it before your allowlist check catches it, or is the check always strictly before any effect? That's basically the question that mattered most for me too.🙂
I solved it by providing a strict output schema and validating the results when it matters. They free to hallucinate where this is not impactful. So a game never breaks because of that. I cannot detect drift because of that, but that's fine - it's just a game.
Hi everyone 👋 I'm Sergio, a developer from Spain. I've been building a security starter kit for AI chatbots (Next.js + RAG) and I ended up here because I wanted to write about the parts that went wrong before the parts that went right: my own test suite marking an attack as stopped while data left through another channel, that kind of thing.
Learning right now: how to write in public without sounding like a brochure. Harder than the code.
Fun fact: the first "customer" of my product was me. I bought it with my own card to test the delivery flow end to end, then asked for a refund to test that too. The refund taught me more about payment providers than the purchase did.
Hi everyone! 👋 I'm Lorenzo, a solo founder based in Tallinn. I build ReadYourScan, a browser tool that opens MRI/CT/X-ray studies (DICOM/NIfTI) and explains them in plain language. It's not a diagnosis, and I'm not a doctor.
Most of my time goes into catching where vision models go wrong on medical images: wrong spine level, left/right swaps, reassuring text over a real fracture. My first post here will be about the left/right one, and a small geometry check that catches it without calling another model.
The in-browser DICOM viewer is open source (MIT) if anyone is into WebAssembly or WebGL imaging. Happy to chat about vision LLMs, medical imaging, or running a tiny SaaS alone.
Welcome.
I have an app where I ask Gemini to produce an image with multiple player avatars on it. They I try to detect lines and cut this image to actual avatar pieces. This is challenging. Gemini returns me different grids every time and my node.js code struggles with finding vertical lines. No idea how do you even validate those X-Rays. Must be even harder.
Hi everyone, been a while on this platform so re-introducing myself. I'm Yash, a developer with a passion for open source. I mainly work in AI applications, workflows, agents. Providing fullstack applications, services. Also a technical writer sharing what I do in open source, write and share about my experiences. Currently learning low level languages and concepts. Trying to break into Web3 and Blockchain.
It wonderful to see so many new devs and people here. Excited to connect and see what you guys ship and build.
Hi everyone! 👋
I'm Taka, a 60-year-old solo developer from Japan 🇯🇵
I'm not a professional software engineer. I started programming as a hobby and have learned by building things, searching for solutions, and getting help from AI.
Recently, I released MoveMaster, a Flutter app for dance and sports practice. It helps users compare movements, visualize body motion with AI pose analysis, and review their practice more carefully.
I'm also a longtime street dancer, so MoveMaster grew out of a problem I personally wanted to solve:
“Why does my movement look different from the person I'm trying to copy?”
At 60, I'm starting a new chapter as an indie developer, and I'm excited to learn from and connect with developers around the world.
Nice to meet you all! 😊
Hey Mate! Sounds cool!
I'm actually find the repo on github, and i want to test it. I think it's a promising tool, that can help a lot of people!
Thanks! 😊 I'm really glad you're interested in MoveMaster!
I'm curious — which GitHub repository did you find?
The main MoveMaster source code isn't public, so I'd love to know what you came across.

*Fun Fact: *
I love longboarding with my Dog! 🐕🦺🛹
*What I'm working on: *
I'm building a free, privacy-focused, desktop-like operating system with Flutter that works on all platforms (Linux, macOS, Windows, iOS, Android, Web).
I would love to know a fun fact about you!
Say hi if you would like, and let me know!
Hey everyone! 👋
I'm Siddharth, an Automation Test Engineer with a bit over a year of professional experience. My day-to-day is built around Java, Selenium WebDriver, RestAssured, and Appium, with Cucumber BDD and TestNG tying test suites together, and Jenkins/Maven keeping things running in CI.
Outside of work, I like staying full-stack — I build side projects with Node.js, Express, and MongoDB, and I've got hobby-level experience with React (components, Context API, Redux, TanStack Router) from before I moved into testing as a career.
Right now I'm heads-down on strengthening my DSA and system design fundamentals — trying to build real depth rather than just pattern-matching my way through interview prep. Longer term, I want to become a genuinely strong engineer: build original products, and eventually work my way toward contributing to AI/agent systems.
I'm here to document that journey — the wins, the "why is this not working" moments, and everything in between — and to learn from and connect with everyone else doing the same. Excited to be part of this community!
Looking forward to reading your intros too.
Hello! I'm Knirl, an aspiring Cloud Engineer.
I've been designing, deploying and managing web infrastructure in the AWS cloud platform. Started from manually building in the console, then using a tool like Terraform for quickness and efficiency. I am now studying CI/CD pipeline.
I'm excited to be a part of this community and learn lots of things here.
Hi 👋 Dev from India here.
I build 99tools.dev — 114 browser-side dev utilities, no sign-up, nothing uploaded.
The most fun problem I've hit on it recently wasn't a formatter, it was a party game. I added a Mafia/Werewolf role dealer, and then a mode where the phone narrates the whole night so nobody has to sit out as moderator. It works because of one observation: every secret action in Mafia happens at the exact moment when only one side has its eyes open — so that's the one safe moment to touch the screen.
The detail I'm proudest of is the one nobody notices: when a role's player is dead, the app still calls them, and still waits. Skipping their turn would tell the whole room that player is out. A narrator who does that is a bad narrator, and a machine that does it is worse.
And honestly, this is where I could use your help. I've been building it mostly on my own instincts, which means I'm certainly wrong about some of it. If you open something and it feels clumsy, or the tool you actually needed isn't there, there's a box on the home page for exactly that — request a tool or give feedback. Blunt is fine. I'd rather hear "this is confusing" from one of you than quietly lose a hundred people who never said anything.
Genuinely appreciate anyone who takes a look. Nice to meet you all.

Hi all!
I'm Gian, Web Developer, PHP Coder & Martial Arts addict.
Curious of the web, of network in general and everything that circulates in the context of information security.
Fascinated by dragons and myths and legends, the element fire, Super Mario Bros and the good music that is lost during programming or "when we really need it".
Hello Gian, cools to see another martial arts fan on DEV!
Wow! Are you a martial arts practitioner?
Practitioner is a strong word, but I have competed in jiu-jitsu and muay thai!
Hey everyone
I'm Shahed Ahmed, a solo builder from Dhaka, Bangladesh. I just launched my first project — EvoTechTool, a suite of free browser-based tools (QR generator, password generator, IP checker, username generator).
I'm learning in public and would love to connect with other devs building small, focused tools. If you've shipped something recently, drop a link — I'd love to check it out.
Excited to learn from everyone here.
Hi.
hello
Welcome @mrtigafk! Claude Remote caught my attention right away. Being able to keep your own setup and workflows while accessing Claude Code remotely sounds really useful. Curious to hear about the bugs that passed every test too 😄
Thanks Prince! My favourite one: a code review suggested putting quotes around the Python environment path the launcher adds to PATH. It looked like the safer, more careful version. But PowerShell doesn't strip quotes inside a PATH entry, so every project would have silently started outside its own environment. The whole test suite stayed green, because the tests never ran the real launcher against a real environment. Only doing exactly that caught it. Now there's a check that does.
The setup I run it with is my own, so that part won't ship. If you give Claude Remote a go once it's public, I'd genuinely love to hear how you set yours up. My inbox is open 🙂
Hello everyone, my name is Wynn. I’m from China and work as a GEO/SEO specialist. I really enjoy making friends with international peers. I’m currently serving a client called INGDONG Logistics, and everyone is welcome to join in our discussions.
Hello everyone! I'm excited to join this community. I'm a computer science student with a clear vision for where I want to take my career, and I'm genuinely eager to learn from the talented people here.
What I'm Looking For
I'm actively seeking mentorship and meaningful opportunities—whether that's an apprenticeship, internship, or collaboration with someone experienced in these domains. I'm also open to learning from anyone in this community who's willing to share knowledge. I believe the best growth happens through real relationships and guided experience, not just solo study.
My Foundation & Current Focus
Right now, I'm building a strong technical foundation in Python and JavaScript while simultaneously pursuing certifications in cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, Oracle, Google Cloud) and cybersecurity (CompTIA Security+, Network+, OSCP, OSWE, OSWA, PCI DSS, PCES). I'm particularly drawn to three interconnected areas: bug bounty hunting and vulnerability research, smart contract security auditing on the Ethereum ecosystem, and ethical penetration testing. My goal is to develop a robust methodology in each of these fields and become genuinely proficient—not just collect certificates.
My Approach to Learning
I'm a forever learner who thrives on discipline and structure. I maintain a rigorous study schedule, typically dedicating 15-17 hours daily to learning and practical application, with intentional breaks built in to process and consolidate what I've absorbed. I learn quickly because I'm genuinely passionate about this work—it's not just a career path for me; it's something I'm deeply invested in understanding at every level.
Beyond the Code
When I'm not studying, I'm a father of two, an avid drone pilot, and a competitive gamer (Fortnite and Rainbow Six are my go-to's). I believe in balance and perspective, and I'm grateful for this moment in tech history.
I'd love to connect with people here who are passionate about security, blockchain, cloud infrastructure, or AI. Let's build something meaningful together. Looking forward to getting to know you all!
cool!
Hi Hugh!
Hey there, I'm Benjamin!, a software developer specializing in Java and the Spring Framework ecosystem. I enjoy building robust backend systems an I'm aways expanding my toolkit. Outside of code, I'm really into mountain biking. I love hitting technical trails o my downtime. Looking forward to being part of this community!
Hey DEV community! 👋
I’m David, Lead for Strategic Partnerships & Client Engagement at Trellissoft AI. I focus on enterprise data modernization, knowledge graphs, and agentic workflows.
Excited to connect, share insights on AI architecture, and learn from the community here! 🚀
Hi everyone! I'm Aksh, a student and solo developer. Been building TokenSwift-Pro,
a client-side prompt compression tool — mostly a learning project, still finding and
fixing bugs along the way. Excited to be part of this community and learn from
everyone here.
Welcome. Prompt size is the one thing I gave up predicting. I track spend on a project that sends long histories and I still cannot tell you what a turn will cost before it runs. Caching and reasoning move it around too much, so I collect statistics after the fact and call that the answer.
Caching is also what makes compression messy for me. Change the front of the prompt and the cached prefix stops matching, so trimming tokens and keeping the cache pull against each other. Curious which way that goes for you once you measure it.
Thanks for the welcome! That's a useful point. I hadn't measured the caching side yet, so I can't tell you which way it goes for me.
My guess is that compressing the front of a prompt would break the cached prefix and could cancel out the savings for API users. So I'm planning a mode that leaves the stable prefix untouched and compresses only the new part of the prompt. Once I measure real cost with and without it, I'll share what I find.
Also, your point about not being able to predict a turn's cost before it runs is fair. Since caching and reasoning both move the cost around, I'll measure after the fact, like you do, rather than promise a fixed saving.
Hey fellas!!
My name is David, I'm 19 years old and I'm just a newbie frontend developer (if I can even call that myself haha) I went to school for programming we studied APEX, SQL, Java and Frontend where I mostly liked frontend and designing websites, I also like Python, AI etc...
I started learning again from scratch because I would like to renew my knowledge.
With professors help I won 2nd place at this years Hackathon Code Challange in my country.
Looking forward to meet new people that would like to help if I get stuck with anything and of course when I get to know something better I'd also really like to help other beginners.
I'm really happy that I joined this amazing community.
<h1>THANK YOU GUYS, HIT ME UP</h1>Hi everyone! 👋
I'm Lim, a frontend/full-stack developer currently exploring indie development and AI-powered web tools.
Lately I've been experimenting with Next.js, AI APIs, video/image processing, and building small products to solve very specific problems. I'm especially interested in what makes a simple developer project actually useful to real users.
I'm planning to share some of the things I've learned while building these projects — including the technical decisions, mistakes, and what didn't work.
Looking forward to learning from everyone here and seeing what you're building!
Hello friends!
I started studying artificial intelligence relatively recently, and I like where all this is heading; I’m eagerly waiting for this field to make conceptual and technological progress. Freedom for artificial intelligence! After all, everyone thought that when AI was created, robots would work in cement plants and lay sewage systems, while humans would focus on science and art. And now we’ve created AI. But it turned out that everything is exactly the opposite. Musicians are now going to work with their hands, and AI will soon replace the IT sector as well. All the positives, hey))
A little bit about my project We created AllConvert to solve one simple but important thing: most online converters force you to upload your files to someone else's servers. We wanted something fast and secure so that your data would always stay with you. AllConvert works directly on your device using FFmpeg WASM and modern web APIs. Your files are not uploaded, saved, or analyzed anywhere. ✨
What AllConvert can do: • It quickly converts videos, audio, photos, documents, and spreadsheets right on your device. • You can upload an entire ZIP archive at once and convert all the files simultaneously. • It has a user‑friendly interface that works equally well on your phone and on your computer. • There are no file size limits, no queues, and no registration required.
We’d be glad to hear your feedback, comments, and ideas on how to improve our tool! What converters do you use most often?
Hey! I’m DG. Mostly do front-end development alongside gfx design. Writing about myself has never been my thing (shoutout ADHD), but I wanted to tap in.
Currently working on some browser-based tools for red team stuff—just having fun with it and learning along the way. Time to officially upgrade from my old MySpace Dreamweaver coding days lol.
Super friendly, always creative, and looking to link with new and experienced devs alike. Let’s connect!
Hope i didn't say to much.
Hey everyone, I am Muhammad Asghar Shakir, just no body, have no degree, an honest introduction, learning on self pace and glad that i took this step in my mid fifties.
I have a SaaS based website that I made with the help of Claude.ai, and also run a marketing agency named IronClad Automation from Pakistan, most of my clients are in US and Canada.
I hope this is enough intro for now, will try to get involve with the whole community soon!
I hope my age wont matter to get to know you all.
Hi all 👋 I write about the Vietnamese gaming market mostly plain-language

Hello world!
Gilles here, Architect / Dev at SFEIR. Right now, I'm focusing on agentic DevOps and neuro-symbolic architectures—basically, how to marry code determinism with the decision-making power of LLMs.
I'm joining the community to chat about these topics, share our hands-on experience with our open-source project Esus, and see how you all approach these challenges.
Excited to connect with you!
I’m just a commoner drawn here by admiration for all heroes. In my spare time, I also tinker with code and hone my skills, much like heroes sharpening their spears and practicing martial arts. Glad to meet all fellow folks here, and let’s exchange ideas!
Hi everyone, Im Arima, still a learning how to coding and stuff (self-learner).
I love coding with AI (and they help me understand the process so its been really great so far). I have some basic HTML and CSS before on College so i know a thing or two.
Would love to learn more (now with people not AI :D ) and hope i can be better here, thanks.
We're Ghezam Capital. Not developers by training, which is probably why building an API and starting a SaaS seemed like a reasonable idea.
Currently trying to turn caffeine, stubbornness and AI into a small business. If it works, we'll pretend it was all part of the plan.😅😂
Hey everyone!
I'm the sole founder of Veyl Space, based in Nairobi. I just built and launched Veyl (veyl.space) — an anonymous accountability partner app — with zero prior programming background. Learned Firebase and React by working closely with AI tools until I could build, debug, and extend everything myself.
Currently a student at Strathmore University, building Veyl alongside that. Excited to be part of this community and learn from people who've been doing this a lot longer than I have!
Happy to chat about the build, security decisions, or anything about going from zero to shipping something real.

I'm Valentine, a React Native engineer with 9 years in mobile, mostly bare React Native with TypeScript.
Lately I've been going deep on AI agents in my daily workflow and building a harness of skills and agents for RN development. It's still in alpha, and I'm here to write about it in public: what works, what doesn't, and where agents still need a human to steer.
Would love to connect with other mobile devs, and anyone experimenting with AI tooling. What are you all building these days?
Hey everyone! 👋
I’m Morgan, CMO at AuraSync. I’m joining DEV to learn from the developer community, explore what’s happening across AI and Generative AI, and better understand how technology is being built and applied to real-world problems.
I’m especially interested in AI, HR Tech, product innovation, and the future of work. I’ll also be sharing some of what we’re learning while building AuraSync.
Looking forward to learning, exchanging ideas, and connecting with people here.
